Our story
FASTINOV is a clinical microbiology company founded in Porto in 2013 by Prof. Cidália Pina-Vaz.
Our work grew from academic and clinical research in rapid phenotypic antimicrobial susceptibility testing. Addressing that challenge also required new approaches to rapidly prepare viable microorganisms from clinical samples, creating the scientific foundation for the technologies FASTINOV develops today.
FASTINOV continues to develop technologies that accelerate critical microbiology workflows, with a focus on helping laboratories reach actionable results sooner.

Prof. Cidália Pina-Vaz
A physician, clinical microbiologist and academic, she is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, a former Clinical Pathology consultant at São João Hospital, author of more than 300 scientific publications, and former Portuguese representative on the EUCAST Steering Committee.
